Currently lives: The Circus. He’s been there for a year. Took him a while to settle in, but Trick helped ease him into things.

Languages spoken: Lots of languages. Angels communicate with lots of different species on different planes and in different dimensions, so they’re born with the ability to learn many languages. He doesn’t speak though, so who knows?

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Height: 5’ 10”

Preferred style of clothing: Whatever he’s told to wear. He has no preference. The Ringmaster likes dressing him up in feathery robes, as that’s what he thinks Angels wear. Alistair doesn’t complain.


PERSONALITY

Personality: Quiet, inquisitive, nonchalant, seemingly indifferent, and calm. He doesn’t make an effort to sign or act out emotions or conversation – just shrugs, occasionally sighs through his nose, or waves a hand in a vague gesture. He’s not an ass though; he views most people in a positive light; he only dislikes people who’ve tried to do him harm or held him back. He’s powerful and he’s a rare asset in The Circus, so he uses his position to his advantage and just plays everything by ear. At the end of the day he’ll do whatever he can to improve his interests.

Likes: Crude humour, irritating people with his passiveness, spiders, watching shows in the Big Top, appearing in Trick’s room and watching them write, setting up small mishaps that’ll annoy The Ringmaster in the future, stargazing with Trick, and sitting on top of the largest tents/attractions.

Dislikes: The Ringmaster, cats, unjust punishments, The Ringmaster, small spaces, water and slimy substances.

Fears/phobias: N/A.

Hobbies: Confusing guests by standing around like a tour guide and doing nothing to help anyone who asks, doing whatever Trick’s doing, or following The Ringmaster and making his days 10% more unpleasant.

Talents/Skills/Powers: Typical angelic powers. Not gonna’ list them right now because Angels are a whole new thing for another day, and he next to never uses his powers, but… He can fly, his horns are a focus-point for his ‘magic’ (energy/chakras gathered from nature, etc), and he can be featherlight and silent when he needs to be. Super sneaky.


OTHER:
- Alistair wasn’t originally too fond of The Circus. He’s still not, really. He just tolerates it.
- The Ringmaster sent two scouts to hunt down Alistair and bring him back to The Circus. They were two of his most powerful and trusted performers (two phoenix-hybrid twins). Alistair killed them, and The Ringmaster had to go and get him himself.
- Alistair was kept in The Circus’ cells (located behind the darkest of the beasts’ cages) after being caught. He was chained and left alone for weeks. The Ringmaster eventually persuaded Trick to meet with the angel and attempt to negotiate a peace between him and The Circus. They taught him how things worked in the dimension and persuaded him to live the life of a pacifist within its walls.
- Alistair will leave The Circus when he wants to. He’s strong enough to, he just can’t be bothered being chased around by The Ringmaster again. Besides, he kind of likes the place, and he has good company in Trick and Francois.
- No-one’s really sure whether Alistair is ‘mute’ or not. Some say his tongue was cut out by The Ringmaster, some say he was never born with a tongue, some say his natural voice is high-pitched and embarrassing, and those who fear Angels say that the voice of an Angel burns the eyes of the listener. …But he stuck his tongue out at Trick once, and they’re sure they’ve heard him laugh behind closed doors, so he’s probably just playing them all for fools.
