PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Height: 6’ 3”

Tattoos/Markings, etc: She has no tattoos, but she has an extra eye. She also has gills. Where? Who knows.

Preferred style of clothing: When working in marketing she wears simple suits, skirts and trousers – she likes to look smart and good. After being promoted she spends ninety percent of her time wearing more flamboyant, performer-like outfits; violently coloured dresses, burlesque costumes, and mock ringleader getup – usually dresses, leotards, etc.

Frequently worn jewellery/accessories: Lots of large ear-rings, heart-shaped things, necklaces, bracelets – whatever she likes. She likes wearing horn-rimmed glasses, I just forgot to include them in the reference…

PERSONALITY

Personality: Confident, determined, independent, optimistic, a little uptight and somewhat manipulative. She likes things being in order – neat, tidy, and controllably bloody – with her in control, in contrast to how The Ringmaster likes running things. But, she has a playful side that only really sees the light of day when she’s with The Ringmaster. She’s a brilliant liar, a fantastic flirt, and she knows how to carry herself. She likes both performing and managing performances. Selah also dislikes ‘complicated’ – she finds people’s personal problems and drama oh so very trivial. If she doesn’t like people she doesn’t give them attention, only the cold shoulder, they’re not worthy of her time/attention. To most she comes across as a manipulative bitch, but she can be sensitive and nice – she just doesn’t like showing it. It’s difficult being a woman in The Circus, you know – she has to be taken seriously.

Likes: Music, sickly sweet chocolate, performing, being in the centre of the spotlight, being appreciated/praised, dancing, romantic attention, water, reptiles, spiders, the sweet taste of victory, birds, feathers and trapesing around the marquees with The Ringmaster.

Dislikes: Anything petty/needlessly complicated, (Trick), anybody undermining her, children, when her boyfriend is a man-child (though sometimes cute, it can be a tad annoying), unprofessionalism, pixies, her efforts being underappreciated, and not being taken seriously.

Favourite colour: Crystal Blue (though she wears a lot of red)

Hobbies: She doesn’t have many hobbies – mainly just work. She sits in on marketing meetings with The Ringmaster and the other ‘spiders’ (marketers/undercover agents working to take down The Circus internally), and she enjoys watching The Ringmaster work in his office. Though she spends a lot of time wandering around, making sure everything is running in her own organised way, she likes taking time to be with The Ringmaster.

Talents/Skills:
- Singing, wit and wordplay. She’s very, very good at singing – she’s a siren, her voice appeals to literally everyone, and she can hypnotise people with her music.
- She’s also generally very intelligent. She knows how to work people, and she knows how to twist things to run in her favour.
- Oh, and she’s a good dancer.

Describe the character's house/home:
- The Circus.

BACKSTORY:
- Selah has been working in the marketing department of The Circus for a good few years. She was one of the 5% of those ‘spiders’ who wasn’t actually an undercover government agent or mafia member trying to take the place down. Working with them wasn’t too pleasant – most of the people were idiots hired to only amuse The Ringmaster or serve as his playthings.
- The Ringmaster ended up forming a super crush on her because “she’s so pretty and perfect and aaaaaa look at her Trick, look at her, isn’t she just perfect how she moves and talks and walks oh- haha, she’s looking at me- haha *sweats nervously* wh- heyy, what were we- yes, marketing, haha- haaaaaaaaa *falls out of chair*”
- Despite being a calm, orderly, completely sane woman she actually found/finds The Ringmaster rather charming and, dare she say it, ‘cute’. She initially mused his fascination with her because she figured she’d be able to use him to work her way higher up in management, but… well, she likes him too much. She’s kinda’ happy where she is now.


I can never do Selah justice. Her personality is a bit difficult to summarise.
